Housing, food and utility help

Most of these resources serve Santa Clara County, California. Each provider decides eligibility and current availability. A listing does not establish a Foundation partnership or guarantee assistance.

More than one way to apply

Santa Clara County publishes these CalFresh application routes. Use the county’s official process for your application and documents.

Ask county staff for help with forms or language assistance. The county decides eligibility and provides the next steps. Published contact routes do not establish appointment availability or benefit approval.

Apply for PG&E discounts by phone or on paper

Start by phone: 1-866-743-2273. PG&E’s residential application says you can apply by calling this number. You can also ask about getting a paper form.

Bill paid through a landlord’s sub-meter? PG&E directs these residential tenants to a separate paper application. Ask PG&E for the correct form before using the standard application above.

Language or accessible-format help: call 1-800-743-5000 to ask about translation, Braille, large print or audio. California Relay is 7-1-1. See PG&E’s language and assistive services.

Sources: PG&E’s linked applications and program pages, and CPUC’s CARE/FERA information. PG&E determines eligibility. These are bill-discount routes, not a promise to cover an overdue bill. Amarnath Foundation does not accept applications or household records.

Before you contact a support program

Use this checklist privately. There is nothing to fill in or send to the Foundation.

  1. Check the service area. Read the provider’s own page to confirm that it serves where you live and offers the type of help you need.
  2. Use the current contact route. Follow the provider’s intake page or public telephone number, rather than an undated saved form.
  3. Ask one useful opening question. “What is the current way to apply for this program, and where can I find its requirements?”
  4. Keep your records private. Make notes on your own device or paper. If documents are requested, use the provider’s official process. Do not send bills, leases, financial records, identity documents or notices to Amarnath.
  5. Save the next step. Keep any confirmation or instructions for yourself. Application questions, required documents and case-specific deadlines belong with the provider.

This is general public information, not an eligibility assessment, legal advice or an application service. Rules and availability can change. Follow the provider’s current instructions.
